A Brief Bio the following is a brief list of achievements.
Moharimet Elementary School
Member of the intramural track and field and T-ball teams
Alto saxophone in the fourth grade band
Participated in gymnastics, piano lessons, Brownie and Junior Girl Scouts, and the church Rejoice Choir
Oyster River Middle School
Running:
- Four-year member of cross country and spring track teams
- Member of the A-team (scoring team member) in sixth, seventh, and eighth grades
- Fastest Oyster River girl, and won two dual meets, in seventh grade
- Elected captain for both teams in eighth grade
Band:
- Four years as an alto saxophonist in the fifth grade band, the orchestra, and the jazz band.
Johns Hopkins Talent Search / Center for Talented Youth:
- Qualified to take the SAT in fifth through eighth grades, scoring higher than a majority of "college-bound high school seniors" each year
- In seventh grade was awarded a scholarship for a college course, which I took at UNH in the fall of eighth grade
Other:
- Placed 11th in New Hampshire and Vermont for Beginning French in the National French Exam in eighth grade
- Elected assistant yearbook editor in eighth grade
Phillips Exeter Academy
Math:
- Prize in Intermediate Integrated Mathematics in ninth grade
- Prize in Calculus in tenth grade
- Renssalaer Medal for Mathematics and Science in eleventh grade
- Dedicated peer math tutor throughout high school
- Co-taught a sophomore geometry/trigonometry class with the chair of the math department in senior year
- Temporary member of the math club
French:
- Prize in Beginning French in ninth grade
- Prize in Intermediate French in tenth grade
- Traveled to France with a group through Exeter, including a 10-day homestay in Montpelier, in the summer before eleventh grade
- Prize in Advanced French in senior year
Athletics:
- Four-year varsity member of the cross country team
- Earned All-New England honors for placing in the top 15 prep school runners in New England in tenth and twelfth grades
- Member of the Hall of Fame for running sub-19:00 on the three-mile cross country course
- With my co-captain, the first runners in NEPSTA to be on three New England champion cross country teams
- Ran varsity spring track in ninth, tenth, and twelfth grades, and varsity winter track in twelfth grade
- Elected captain of all three teams in senior year
- Ran the Boston Marathon in qualifying time in April 2003
Band:
- Four-year member of the Concert Band on the tenor and baritone saxophones
